Preserving Brown's Woods: Iowa's Largest Urban Forest with PCC's Amanda Brown & Cassie Cook

Polk County Conservation's Amanda Brown, Water Ecologist, and Cassie Cook, Conservation Ecologist, will talk about tha Management Plan for Brown's Woods and what it means to outdoors people! Brown’s Woods is Iowa’s largest urban forest, offers more than four miles of trails to explore with hiking, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. This 486-acre forest in West Des Moines features a canopy of oak and hickory trees stretching from Brown's Woods Drive to the Raccoon River. The rolling hills and small streams of Brown's Woods are a joy to explore at any season.Admission to the program at 6:45 p.m. is FREE and open to the public! Doors open at 5:30, with an open bar, and Dinner is available with service beginning at 6.
